Excema hands

Excema hands or eczema hands, to give it the correct spelling,  (normally dry excema) is a type of skin inflammation.

Particularly common in industries involving cleaning, catering, metalwork, hairdressing, healthcare and mechanical work Excema hands may become a major problem if effective treatment is not sort.

Whilst the key symptom is an itchy, lumpy rash more acute cases of excema hands become swollen and red with small blisters developing under the skin. Inflammation areas are scattered over the palm and fingers. The fingers may become quite swollen and other parts of the hands can also be affected.

Because of the itching, the area becomes badly chapped. If the excema hands become very bad, they will become painful. Difficulty in performing normal daily tasks will be experienced particularly if carrying out intricate work or handling small components.

Blisters may still be present if the condition persists. Normally however, the skin will become very dry, scaly, and thickened. Very painful splits and cracks will probably develop around the finger tips and joints. The blisters will eventually, disappear leaving skin that is scaly, very thick and dry and it will be prone to splitting, cracking and chapping.

Excema hands can often be exacerbated by the irritants that you come into contact with on a daily basis.
Excema hands will often recover completely with careful management and it is not unusual that a few days off work are required. It may not be possible to work for weeks or months if the excema hands become severe. In extreme cases a change of occupation may be required.

How can Derma Shield help prevent excema hands?

Derma Shield's microscopic shield ensures that, in most cases, any substance exacerbating the excema hands is no longer in direct contact with the skin.
This stops any further aggravation of the sensitised area enabling the skin to recover.

To aid faster skin recovery Derma Shield contains high-grade pharmaceutical moisturisers that are locked in to keep the skin supple.
Aloe Vera and Vitamin E nurture the skin and break the Itch-Scratch-Itch cycle.

Because Derma Shield is designed only to come off the skin as it sheds naturally, one application will last for four to five hours despite repeated washing
This leaves you to go about your day confident that your particular skin complaint is being moisturised, nurtured and protected.
